WARs Public Quests

So I’ve seen some interesting opinions about PQs (public quests) in Warhammer Online (WAR) recently. I’m going to break some stuff down in my own opinions:
From Ryan’s Nerfbat: “I suspected that they would dynamically scale public quests based on the number of players currently participating. When I found a PQ that nobody else was doing, I worked my butt off and completed the first stage alone. Then Champion mobs spawned in stage 2, and I was screwed. So, it looks like they aren’t doing any sort of scaling.
Unfortunately, even though public quests are extremely fun, I fear they won’t even be doable throughout the majority of the game for those of us who will get behind the curve. As soon as I fall behind the pack, which inevitably I will, I’ll be unable to do any PQs until the end game. And that sucks, because they’re enjoyable.”
I can see his opinion, but I have to disagree. A reoccuring theme that I have been experiencing in some groups that I’ve been in playing PQs is that the PQ is great for the Influence Rewards too, and these rewards are pretty easy to get via soloing stage 1 (and sometimes stage 2) of a Public Quest. People can then let the PQs reset by doing some other questing or some RvR and then coming back to them. Now if people are around, then they get them done and get the reward at the end.
Here’s the kicker: The reward at the end of the PQ is not guaranteed. The reward you get for capping out your influence is. And being that there are sometimes 2 or 3 PQs for each chapter…. this lets you max out your influence for that chapter pretty easily to get the rewards (which are quite nice as you are leveling up).
